Military Broadcast Radio (MBR) is a nonprofit media organization dedicated to giving Veterans, First Responders, and their families a voice, a community, and a place to rediscover purpose.
Military Broadcast Radio was founded on May 18, 2005, under the leadership of Jim Butler. In 2018, Joel Hunt was entrusted with carrying the MBR legacy forward, and Military Broadcast Radio became a nonprofit organization that same year.
Today, MBR uses broadcasting, podcasting, video, music, gaming, and digital media as tools for connection, training, rehabilitation, and personal growth. We help Veterans and First Responders learn broadcasting and podcasting skills, set up equipment, develop their own shows, and build the confidence to share their stories and perspectives with audiences around the world.
At MBR, we believe a microphone can be more than a piece of equipment. It can provide someone with a voice, a mission, a community, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Our network continues to grow while staying focused on the reason MBR exists: helping Veterans, First Responders, and their families connect, create, learn, and be heard.
When veterans come together, the conversation hits differently.
*Tip of the Spear: A Veterans Roundtable* brings together veteran podcasters, advocates, leaders, and voices from across the military community for an open, unscripted discussion about the issues that matter to veterans, service members, military families, and Americans. No scripts. No talking points. No echo chamber. In this episode, the roundtable tackles current issues facing the veteran community, shares perspectives shaped by military service and life after the uniform, and discusses where veterans can make a difference in their communities.
The conversation can go anywhere, from veteran mental health, transition and VA benefits to nonprofit work, military culture, leadership, current events, family, community service, and the challenges veterans face after leaving the military. Different branches. Different generations. Different experiences. One table.
*Tip of the Spear* isn't about everyone agreeing. It's about veterans being willing to sit at the same table, ask the difficult questions, listen to different perspectives, and have the conversations others may avoid. Featuring voices from across the veteran media and advocacy community, including
**HomeFront SitRep, The MisFitNation, Oscar Mike Radio, Triple Threat Vets, The Decision Hour**, and fellow veteran creators and advocates.
We served together. We came home together. And we still have a responsibility to look out for one another.
*This is Tip of the Spear: A Veterans Roundtable.* πΊπΈ *Veterans leading the conversation. Veterans supporting veterans.*
The Veteran Media Network mission: amplifying the voices of those who have served.
Created by Veterans, for Veterans, the Challenge America Veteran Arts Community (CAVARTS) is the result of a rich collaboration between Challenge America and The HeartStrings Foundation. CAVARTS represents the culmination of a five year commitment to build an inclusive community that brings together Veterans of various backgrounds who support one another as they connect, learn, and grow through the arts.
In addition to Challenge America programming opportunities, further virtual programming and content are offered through the support of our Community Partner organizations, including Guitars 4 Vets, The Writer’s Garret, Veteran podcasters, and Tandy Leather.
With more than 11,000 Veteran members, CAVARTS is a safe and supportive community where Veterans can leverage their creativity and the power of the arts to foster renewed purpose and meaningful connection. Through creative arts workshops, meaningful curated content, and community partnerships, CAVARTS empowers current and former service members to to express their stories through art, uplift fellow artists, and expand their creative practice.
Within this safe and supportive community, Veterans use the arts as a pathway to renewed purpose and belonging. Through life’s highs and lows, CAVARTS stands together - offering encouragement in times of hardship, celebrating achievements, honoring shared experiences, and connecting through a shared passion for the arts.
Hope For The Warriors (HOPE) is a national leader driving transformative change for the post-9/11 U.S. military community (including veterans and active-duty service members as well as military caregivers, spouses and family members, and families of the fallen).
Our mission is to deliver unparalleled services that uplift individuals and their families as they navigate the complexities of military life.
Throughout our nearly 20-year history, we have adapted our services to address the most emergent needs of the military community; today those services include critical needs assistance, clinical support for mental and physical well-being, and opportunities to connect with others in the community. We use a proprietary well-being model to maintain a focus on creating holistic wellness and addressing challenges unique to those who served after September 11, 2001.
We are committed to fostering resilience and a sense of purpose, ensuring that those who have served our nation will thrive. Together, we forge a strong community that champions courage, commitment, and grit.
